Japan!!!

We finally got here. We went back to Florida for a brief vacation and then we got on the plane and here we are! The vacation back home was really good. Austin and my family actually got along together. That was a huge accomplishment in itself. We split up the days between my family and Austin's family.

We went to Daytona Beach and stayed in Perry's Ocean Resort. Austin's nephew Tim and his wife Jill came with us along with his niece Candice and her husband Donald (everybody is growing up and getting married). Donald brought his sister (don't know her name). For the first part of the day it was just me and austin with tim and then like around 6:00 everybody decided to show up. We bought a whole bunch of alcohol and we were drinking the whole day and then we ended up playing drinking games all night. Everything went pretty well, except for when Donald forgot that he wasnt supposed to leave the room and Austin almost had a heart attack. Other than that we have some halarious pictures. Like the one of me doing the tea-pot dance upside down…and the one of Candice getting stuck in mid air trying to do a summer sault.

One night we went over to my friend Wayne Loeser's house Austin finally decided that he would go with me…that night was rather interesting. Austin finally got to hang out with my friends from my past..they all accepted him and really liked him. They wheren't just being fake for my sake..they actually got along with him. (they being Wayne, his dad big Wayne, his mom Melissa and his Sister Anna Rose along with a couple of Wayne's friends Johnny and Jack and Don) anyways everybody was drinking and my mom and step-dad Dave was there too…well when my step-dad left thats when it got really interesting. My mom and Melissa started dancing together (they were smashed, completely wasted) little Wayne and my mom danced my mom even tried to grab me and Austin too! I almost died laughing. My mom was also smoking that night after having spopped for over 10 years…she was bumming cigarets off of everyone…that was amazing..I finally have dirt on her. Big Wayne showed Austin his gun collection (which by the way is NOT small by any means) and then started to give him a lecture about what a man is and that he better take good care of me or else…no joke. That night was just insane but at least  Austin finally hung out with some of the people that I grew up with and got to see that not all of my friends are bad or think of him like my parents used to. It was a really good night for me because I had wanted that to happen for a long time.

Well those were the highlights of the trip…along with the party that my mom gave me. She threw me a going away party. She invited all of my family and my step-dads family…it was a good day…I really enjoyed it but it's not somthing that was funny…like my mom getting drunk.

Anyways we made it to Japan. The flight was really long. We went from Orlando interantional to Las Angelas international and then from LAX non-stop to Yokota. When we arrived at Yokota the announcer guy told all of the passangers to stay seated because the customes people were going to come on board and search through our carry on things. Then not even 5 min later the announcer guy came on again and said for Airman Scheller to come to the front of the plane and to bring his things along with one more guy. I was scared, I didnt know what to do and I thought for sure that Austin was in trouble…but how the hell was he going to get into trouble if we haven't even been there for 5 min. So we grabbed our things and at the door of the plane were security forces. Turns out that Austin's sponsor had pulled some strings and made it so we didn't have to wait forever to get through customs. We went to this building and they got our bags and then we waited for like maybe an hour and we were done. We were really lucky because if Austin's sponsor hadn't done that we wouldn't have arrived at the hotel  and been through all of the customs stuff for like 4 or 5 hours.

It took us like a week and a half to get used to the time change and everything. We are like 13 hours ahead of Florida.

We arrived on July 4, 2004. We checked into the Kanto Lodge

We moved into our housing on July 12, 2004

Austin started his training on July 13, 2004 and started his job on the 20th.

We have already been to Tokyo, we went and visited the New Sanno Hotel. This hotel is downtown Tokyo and is a hotel for the use of military personel. From the hotel we walked around and tried to find some shops but because it was a sunday everything was closed. We still had a good time, we ate at a Japanese soup shop. That was the frist place that we ate at in Japan outside of the base. It was really good I had Beef, mushroom, and onion soup and austin had curry chicken and rice.

Since then we have been a little busy trying to get all of the house in order and just relax. We have explored the base…its really a huge change from the one that we were at. This one has an active runway wich the other one didn't have. It also has alot more shops and is like 3 times as big. I really like it here. I wish that this was Austin's first duty station It would've been alot nicer.

I am a housewife now…really big change from my other job that I was working like 40 to 80 hours a week at. The weird thing is I miss that job. It was the first one that I really felt important at. I was the manager of a  Sunglass Hut and Watch World Combo store. I was really good at it. All of my employees loved me and I made the sales in the store go up 60 % more than it had been in the last 3 years…I was awesome. When I left my employees didn't want me to go and my boss didn't want me to go either…he kept asking me if I was sure that I had to go. The only thing that I don't miss is having to argue with them like every other pay period about my money. The job was a piece of cake but the company sucked. Oh well…at least when I go back to the states I will be able to go back to the company and have a job. There isn't much in this world that I can honestly say that I am good at but that job was one of them. The only other thing that I am good at is my Pottery. I really miss it. Good news though this base has pottery and it only cost $55.00 for four classes and I can start to do my pottery again. I can't wait to start.

I am going to go back to school while I am here too.  The only down side is that I don't get to have any kids while I am here…Austin wants to wait till he is an officer. That means after he finishes his 2 years of college. I understand that he wants to be able to provide right for the kids. I just get mad sometimes cuz I really want a child. I know that I would be a good mother but it feels like everyone is against me. I guess that I have to wait on Austin…cuz I know that he would probably hate me if I went behind his back and stopped the birth control and didnt  tell him. My biggest fear is staying on the stupid shot too long and not being able to have kids or worse yet…having cancer or the child when we did decide to have one end up comming out all deformed. It can take up to like 2 years for this shit to get out of your system…thats a scary thought.

Anyways this is kind of long and I have other things to do….

later
